Dedication to BRIGANTINE CASTLE
By Barragonis Wreap
I am probably the biggest fan of Brigantine Castle who never got to go inside. I could write a novel on how many times in my adolescence I begged, pleaded and came up with failed plans (including hitch-hiking sixty miles) to go to the Castle. Finally in my senior year of high school my best friend, Zachary Malice, just acquired his driving license. However, the pier was condemned only a few months before our arrival and I literally had to be pried off the front gate. I returned the following year and took a photo shoot with Malarom and Hebsleth (see the Long Branch Haunted Mansion dedication). On the last trip I made to Brigantine, I was greeted with ruins. It had only burned down a few months before. Still, I had a photo shoot in my original "Barragonis Wreap" costume who, in a story in my head, was the undead revenant of the Mansion's blacksmith who arose from the Long Branch pier's ashes to guard the secrets within the pier's ruins empowered by probably the only axe to survive the destruction of the Mansion (due to it was taken back for repairs). My friends used to drive around town in the middle of the summer and I would pop out of the trunk in full costume when we would stop at lights or I would run up to restaurant windows with one of my friends planted inside who would get up and start screaming. We eventually got busted by the cops, but we got off easy due to we gave them a good laugh.
